Get an independent second opinion

Understanding the numbers is the first step. Knowing what to do with them is next. Tell us what you're looking at, and we'll introduce you to an independent actuary or benefits consultant who can help.

When a second opinion helps

  • A renewal lands well above the trend range and the explanation doesn't add up
  • You're weighing a move to level-funded or self-funded
  • You're comparing stop-loss quotes or setting a deductible
  • A claims or loss ratio report doesn't match what you expected

How it works

  1. Tell us about your situation. It takes two minutes.
  2. Within two business days, we introduce you by email to someone suited to the question.
  3. You talk with them and decide whether to work together. They quote their own fees.

What to have handy

  • The renewal offer or rate exhibit from your carrier
  • Your last 12 to 24 months of claims or loss ratio reports
  • Current and proposed premium, and any plan changes on the table
  • Enrollment counts by tier (no names or health details)

Don't have all of it? That's fine. The person we introduce you to can tell you what to request.

How we're paid. Introductions are free. If you hire someone we introduce, they may pay Actuarially Sound a referral fee. You're never obligated to hire anyone. How we stay independent.

Not sure yet? Check your renewal first. It takes two minutes.
